I called to place an order for wings. Gentleman asked me for my phone number, asked for the flavor and asked me which dip I’d prefer. I had an incoming call and I told the gentleman that I’d be back and I answered the call. I go back to the primary call and it was no longer there. So I decide to head over to pick up the wings. I enter and let the gentleman that I had placed an order for pick up. I let him know it was for the wings and he tells me that I’d have to wait 9 minutes for them to be ready because they require payment before making the order and since the call got lost it wasn’t possible. Yet, he never attempted once to call me back to my phone. Hmm…let that sink in. At that point I just tell him forget about it and call Wing Stop on 457 Hialeah Dr. Unit 2 and spoke with Frank. Frank was fast and attentive and did not require a payment method. I go over and get my wings, drinks and fries.

Let me start with the good. The slices are huge. Don't think I've had a single slice as big. That is a plus in my book. However, the price you paid for a couple slices you might be better off getting a whole. The pizza itself was mediocre. Not great, not the worst I had either. They didn't have the right change for us. So we went over to CVS to get change over about $1 that we couldn't be trusted with. Felt like the pizza wasn't the only thing coming from NY.

Get 👏🏼 the 👏🏼 garlic 👏🏼 knots 👏🏼 I had the garlic knots, the wings (mango habanero), a slice of the Fantastic pizza, and the tiramisu. Every single bite was glorious. For such a small little hole in the wall, the flavor was absolutely huge. The bread for the garlic knots is perfection. Soft fluffy hot insides, perfectly buttery garlicy crusty outside. The wings were fried to a crispy golden crunch and piping hot. The Fantastic pizza was recommended by the guy working the counter and it absolutely slapped! A perfect blend of pepperoni, hot honey, and ricotta cheese on a white pizza base. The tiramisu is going to be the perfect cherry on top as I enjoy it poolside this evening. I cracked it open for the photo and the smell had me drooling.

Queens NY Pizza was pretty solid overall. The real wow factor for me was the tiramisu and the garlic rolls. Both were ridiculously good and honestly stole the show. The slices are no joke. For reference, I accidentally left a bottle of Mucinex in the box and it basically turned into my size comparison. That should tell you everything. These slices are huge and definitely shareable. I tried the black truffle slice and it wasn’t overpowering, which I appreciated. It was subtle but still flavorful in a clean way. Hard to explain, but it worked. The mushrooms tasted fresh, not canned, and you can absolutely tell the difference. I’m picky about grease and ingredient quality, and this pizza tasted clean. Not heavy, not oily. The thin crust is done right. Not thick, not doughy, not pan style. Just a proper New York slice that holds up. The undercarriage was cooked to perfection. Crispy, structured, not floppy. That’s important. I also tried the Calabrian slice and paid extra to add pepperoni. The flavor combination was good and the toppings were generous. I ordered it specifically because the photo showed sliced Italian sausage, but it arrived with crumbled sausage instead. Not a deal

I’d give the garlic rolls a 10/10 and the pizza a 5/10. I would definitely go back for the garlic rolls, but the pizza wasn’t for me. They have all the tools to make a great pizza, but the toppings were cold and it clearly needed another minute in the oven. Even the cheese wasn’t hot. Also, the menu described the pineapple as caramelized, but it was straight from the can—not caramelized as advertised.
